GAIENMAE: Hostaria Casa Bella for a very nice 500yen Lasagna lunch... super cozy interior with beautiful murals.

Walked past Hostaria Casa Bella on an empty stomach last week and noticed Penna Arrabiatta (my fav) and then spotted their 1,000yen Lasagna lunch for 500yen until the end of March!  Had to return!

Nice counter eating with views of the top chef scolding a newbie chef... guess the new guy was a bit forgetful and clumsy.

On the walls were beautiful murals... reminded me of the Italian paintings at museums.
It was such a nice environment.

Home made hot breads... Basil and Tumeric breads.

Hot and chewy

Lasagna arrived and it was about the size of a iPhone.  Sauce was very flavorful & thick, noodles were thing and a nice layer of cheese on top.   I noticed the chef making a fresh batch of Lasagna.. my seat was directly in front of the kitchen oven.

Lunch comes with coffee, tea or espresso

Sugarville. Italian sugar!

Biscotti with almonds.

Overall this restaurant would be perfect for a date...cozy, hidden away and the interior murals were fantastic.  But the lunch came with water, 2 breads, lasagna and a drink... for 500yen a steal but for 1,000yen this will leave you a bit underwhelmed.  But I'll be back for another 500yen lunch as the average price per person at dinner is 8,000yen.

Will leave you with a sweet BMW M6 coupe.

IKEBUKURO: Hanada Tonari "Next Door" for a great bowl of 660yen Abura Soba... mix mix mix

Huge ramen connoisseur friend says this his now his favorite ramen place in Tokyo. Next door to highly ranked Hanada was a shop called Ramen Ichiban but seems they closed down and Hanada opened up a new style ramen shop focusing on something like Taiwanese Maze Soba.

Anything under 700yen is a solid price point.

Free extra garlic and rice.

Had to order the 100yen rice with seasoned meat topping.

There it is..

Whats most interesting is they use miso seasoning for this Abura-Soba,  Noodles where thicky and chewy... immensely flavorful miso sauce.  When you are done don't forget to ask for a scoop of free rice to mix into the leftover sauce/meat.

A long line to the original ramen style shop to the right but sure did enjoy Hanada Tonari.

YOYOGI: Tsukemen Ramen Haruki... massive 900 grams of ramen for free... I didn't touch that.

This sign just caught my eye and had to check out Haruki.

Tsukemen starts at 740yen with no toppings and meat in the soup...  I went with the regular 350 grams of noodles.

Nicely pictured menu.

Not too bad... almost reminded me of 305 Ramen in Roppongi.

Soup clinged to the noodles very nicely.

Overall I think people here dining her for the insanely generous upgrades in ramen noodles but the tonkotsu broth was very normal.  Nothing to go out of your way for unless you loooove noodles.
