SHINBASHI: Wataru Izakaya... its all about the 180yen Beers and Whisky Hi-Balls... food is pretty blah.

Its always great to drink for 180yen but these places usually have very diverse yet very mediocre food between 300-600yen that is really quite over priced.

This seasoned cabbage was about 500yen... but you can buy a whole cabbage at the supermarket for 100yen.  They don't make money off the beer at only 180yen but just the food so drink alot!

Overall its just an easy place to drink for 180yen in Shinbashi but I highly suggest avoiding this place as Shinbashi is salaryman heaven and there are sooooo many awesome tiny izakaya restaurants filled with hard working Japanese men.  Shinbashi is known as a Oyaji town (middle aged salary men) who drink on a tight budget.

TOKYO STATION: Ryutan Okinawan Restaurant for Lunch... the friendliest most courteous staff ever.

I occasionally have a craving for some slow paced island food... thus Okinawan restaurants with their soothing Okinawan rhythms on the BGM.

When in Okinawa you MUST order Okinawan Soba, Taco-Rice and Tacos!  This day I got 2 of the 3.  Taco Rice and Okinawa Soba set for 920yen.

This elderly couple in their 70's or so that kinda looked lost in this huge Tokyo Station ordered the Okinawa Soba Set.  The kind waitress suggested they order a large Okinawa soba set (seems you can get extra noodle upgrades for free) and simply share it.  How so very thoughtful...

This is me!  Lots of carbs... oh no.

I love Ramen in Tokyo but there are just waaaay to may different kinds out here... but you can always trust Okinawa Soba to retain that very familiar flavor.

Taco rice with melted cheddar cheese!

Asked for a little extra salsa sauce... waiter was all smiles and bought out a bigger portion.

Close with a tiny Andagi Okinawan Donut.

The food was alright... I mean Okinawan cooking is simple and you really can't go wrong.  But I most enjoyed the great service and cozy interior.

I leave you with a Ferrari 458 Speciale?

And a beautiful Lamborghini Aventador in Blue!  All spotted today.

MEIJIJINGUMAE: Brown Horse Cowboy Cuisine... incredibly disappointing Curry lunch. Where are the Tacos & Burritos!?

I'm a huge Taco fan and when I saw this Chili Burritos and Taco's sign I just had to get me some.

Looked a the menu and all they had was curry... dang... what happened to the Tacos?  Anyways I'm not a fan of paying 1,000yen for curry so was hoping for the best with my Butter Chicken Curry lunch.

1,000yen... no drink... no dessert... I'm soooo sure the cost to make this was like 150yen.
It tasted boring, rice was too mediocre and it didn't come with a drink... just tap water.

Large L shaped counter seating with lots of interesting decorations to view.

Cozy sofa seating...

Seems in the evenings they serve more Mexican selections but the attraction seems like all you can eat bbq meat and drinks set for 3.980yen

Yeah thats right... please please don't venture into this place during lunch for their completely overpriced boring curry's.  Will update if I ever try their dinner menu.

SHIBUYA: Very interestingly hidden Chopstick Cafe Shirubei a little trek from Shibuya Station... fun times.

This night I followed a few pilots, cabin attendants and visitors from Australia into a very underpopulated part of Shibuya thru a tiny maze into Shirubei.

Specials for February 22nd.

We ordered several dishes but they were rather average at best.  I think the main selling point here is the cozy interior and Japanesy experience.

Fresh saba fish before it gets torched...

Overall the food that we ordered was very mediocre at best but I think the cool part was getting to the restaurant and the interesting interior.
