EBISU: Motel DJ Bar and Restaurant... cozy. 5/20/2014 GRAND OPEN!

A few friends have been posting pics of Motel on FB... found out a DJ friend of mine was spinning this night so decided to give it a try.

Couldn't believe it... AI and Fuji Fimiya sent flowers to Motel.

Guess the owners are connected in the music world...

One of my favorite AI songs...

It was rather quiet for a Saturday night... probably have to give it a few months. I imagined a Bar style space but it was more of a restaurant with a small standing area for beers... just behind us were tables.

Friendly staff

Overall hmm... not a place you would go to meet new people but a spot to invite a group of friends for beers. Don't think it will be one of my weekend watering holes... maybe a nice after date spot for drinks.

OMOTESANDO: Brimmer's Beer Box for a Keg bday gathering~

Between Gaienmae and Omotesando there is long skinny structure built out of shipping containers that houses a few tiny bars/restaurants... Brimmer's sits itself where the former burrito spot LIBRE once sat.

500yen craft beers made in Kawasaki... very reasonable compared to Roppongi's Brew Dog that command a premium for their beers. http://www.brewdog.com/bars/roppongi

And so Bill the regular at Brimmer's organized a event for all his friends...

Two kegs of Brimmer Golden Ale and Brimmer Pale Ale.

We were all gathered on the 2nd floor... in the back there is a perfect unobstructed view of Tokyo Tower and Roppongi Hills.

Since we had out kegs upstairs I didn't get a chance to chat up the bartender but he seemed cool. This little bar with very reasonable beers is a little gem in Posh Omotesando... If you are in the area hit it up!

AKASAKA: Ogo's Hawaiian for Portuguese Sausage Chili and Spicy Tuna Poke combo~

I was at the US Embassy getting a Notary then strolled off to Akasaka to my favorite Hawaiian restaurant in all of Tokyo~... Ogo Ono Loa.

I always go for the combo plates... Today the Spicy Tuna Poke and Portuguese Sausage Chili. Plus 100 yen for a drink and haupia dessert.

No longer the little counter seat for lone diners... lots of tables and behind me there are semi-booth type tables for 4-5 people.

Here we go!

The Poke was delicious as usual... lots of fresh Tuna and chunks of Avocado.

The Chili had a homey feel to it... like something you mom would back back in the US.

My haupia dessert... nice!

This is just such a relaxing spot and the Waitress Akiko-san and Owner/Chef Ryoji are super friendly. Hawaiian tunes on the BGM perfect. If you really really miss Hawaii this is the only spot to go... anything else in Tokyo is way too commercialized and a bit fake.
