Japan has had this GoTo Travel incentive where the government will cover 40% of your airfare and pay you 3,000 yen in local coupons for dining/shopping... but That was recently lowered to 20% and 2,000 in coupons. Anyways Okayama is one of the last cities still offering this travel discount. SO I WENT!
Not gonna lie.. I was a bit drunk when I made the reservation.
Okayama city is such a small cozy place... So just wandered into this wallet friendly Kushiage spot with a huge counter seating area.

These 2 guys kept ordering Japanese hi-balls... after about 30 minutes I asked if this was a Okayama specialty. Seems it just the way this place named their Whisky Hi-ball. Talked to them for a solid 45 minutes and they were here from Osaka and Hiroshima on a business trip. Cool! They bought me 3 high balls and even took care of my 1,800 yen tab. Such nice guys.
If you write a google review you get 500 yen off.
Overall such a welcoming environment for lone diners. Service was quick, clean and will definitely be back again.
The younger guy from Hiroshima took me out a few girls karaoke bars... was a great evening.
