IKEBUKURO: Uogashi Nippon Ichi Standing Sushi... Friendly staff with Jazzy BGM~

Had a craving for just a few pieces of Sushi 寿司 so stopped by this super welcoming clean standing sushi spot next to Don Quijote in Ikebukuro.

The English menu covers the most popular items but if you don't read Japanese you'll miss out on so many other items on the wall behind the sushi chef.

Lunch special from 11-5pm... 780yen!

Free Green Tea

Went for the Tuna (200yen for 2) and the Ebi Mayo (Shrimp with Mayo 150yen) thats been blow torched.

The Maguro was cut from a block of Tuna vs many of the other items that were all pre-sliced.

Jazz on the BGM.  "I Cover The Waterfront" Jackie McLean

Flame torched Salmon Mayo 150yen.  I'm 100% not a raw salmon fan but it was very light and I'd definitely order it again here.

Negitoro-Kobore normally 250yen a piece for 150yen today.

Its just such an easy spot to stop by for a few pieces of Sushi... my intention was to keep it within 500yen but no... thats nearly impossible if you are hungry.  BUT Overall I'd have to say Gatten Sushi or Sushi Zanmai offers much better cuts and larger fish/rice portions than here.  The Tuna and Negitoro seemed too chilled vs other spots.
