IKEBUKURO: Hanryu TaKorea friendly homestyle kitchen in the back alleys of Ikebukuro.

A great way to explore foodie Tokyo on a budget is to try out the many Groupon type sites that offer amazing values in and around the Tokyo area.  Picked up two 5,980yen dinners for 1,908yen each and invited a good buddy of mine via http://pita.jp/tokyo/deals/sh-11929/

In the very very back alleys of Ikebukuro neighboring quite a few small hotels.

11 Course meal with 2hrs of all you can drink began with 2 plates of this... 2 plates! This shop was waaaaay too generous!

Followed by Toppoki~.

2 types of Chijimi.

There were easily 10+ Makkori Korean drinks on the menu...

Fried chicken with spicy sauce and peanuts... addictive!

Cabbage with dressing to calm the spiciness of the chicken...

Japanese sake... so sweet an 980yen a bottle but included in our meal.

Closed with a very medium spiced chige soup... very gentle flavor.

Interior was extremely basic but felt so homely... casual and comfortable.

Our 5:30pm Tuesday night arrival with only 1 other customer.... as if we reserved the entire restaurant.  This place is still new so things should start to pick up soon..

Lots of K-pops posters on the wall and K-pop music playing on the TV.

Me and my good friend Kenta... final Kanpai's.  The coolest thing was they didn't kick us out after the 2 hour limit... we actually were so incredibly stuffed by the 11 course meal and all the drinks... so kindly let the waitress know we were ready to leave.

Service was impeccable and the Waitress/Chef duo were super friendly.  Highly suggest this spot for very casual home style Korean food.
