The more and more I hang outside of Tokyo the more I realize that you don't need to be in central Tokyo to have an amazing meal... and whats best at a crazy affordable price. Today Mari and I checked out Marutatsu Sushi in Oizumi Gakuen.
I was about to order one of my favorite Sushi's... "Ama-ebi" but it came as the "otoshi" (free starter). Sooo fresh..
Didn't take pics of the menu but everything was incredibly reasonable... Chu-Toro here. Mari isn't a fan of raw seafood so she tends to take the fish off the rice, roll it around in shoyu then put it back on the rice... but she commented that this fish was didn't have that fishy-ness to it. Guess it was super fresh.
Akami Tuna
Scallops
Think these were 2 for like 200yen? Crazy inexpensive.
Japanese love Mayo as toppings, dressing, etc... crab here.
A very welcome sight at a Sushi Restaurant... not a fan of inhaling neighborly smoke while trying to eat sushi.
100yen "amaebi" miso soup. 100!? Wow...
Not only was this a Sushi shop by they had a very large selection of grilled fish... complemented the beer very well~.
Incredibly receptive and friendly staff. We sat at the 1st floor counter seating that can accommodate around 15 people... Daily specials hand written on white sheets of paper.
So after a trying alot of Sushi, some grilled fish, 2 large bottles of Kirin Beer... it only came out to 2,900yen. If you are ever EVER in this area please give this place a try.
