OKINAWA NAHA: Mouashibi Okinawan Restaurant... friends said this was very local food and not touristy. (Sony RX100)

Scanned my favorite foodie site Tabelog and saw a photo of this little old Okinawan chef pictured on the site... That was it!  Reservation please.

Lots of famous people must have dined here...

Otoshi is tofu.

There is the little old lady pictured on the right top corner... it wasn't a marketing plan because she did deliver the food to our table!

Of course when in Okinawa you get the pork tamago (egg). Great with beer!

Tried to use a coupon to get free umibudo but they were out... manager offered us a bottle of beer each for free!  Great guy.

My local Okinawan friends said this was soooo what their grandmothers would make at home.   Very traditional.

Okinawa`s own Orion Nago (75) Craft Beer!

Very generous use of space.

Counter seating with views of the sushi chef.

They ordered this... Almost reminded me of Korean chichimi pancake without all the fancy ingredients.  Might want to skip this.

Seems they use this fish to make soup.   Poor guy.

And these tiny fish might be what they put on top of tofu... a bit crunchy due to the bones.
Overall I really enjoyed this spot.  Lots of local Okinawan comfort food and its in an area of Naha that has more of a office worker crowd versus a big tourist following.  Go Go!
