HARAJUKU: Kohmen Ramen... Location Location Location lured me in but never again. Not worth the calories...

I was always curious about Kohmen ramen because its been around forever... I only assumed because of the flavor but now I found out it was simply location and a big tourist following.

First off extremely lowly Japanese foodie review score of 3.01 points... in the realm of ramen shops anything below 3.5 is an almost guaranteed ignore.  https://tabelog.com/tokyo/A1306/A130601/13002516/

One free service item... great ramen shops will only do this for lunch but never dinner.

Craving a little seasoned boiled egg so this was all me.

First tasted the flavor of the soup.... then the ramen... it was just soooo mediocre.  Ugh... the rice seemed as if it was preserved in saran wrap and microwaved to order.  Something wasn't right.

Boring charsiu pork...

I don't think they have dedicated experience ramen chefs here... one lady seemed to be coaching a young girl on how to make the noodles.

It was so odd to see Otsumami (Izakaya style mini items) like edamame.

Overall this kinda tasted like a very bad version of Tenkaippin Ramen.

If you are in Harajuku and craving ramen I would suggest going to Jangara Ramen nearby.
