NERIMA KASUGACHO: Torigaya Yakitori... bunch of friendly folks and the owners just too nice.

Friend of mine ranks this in his top 2 favorite Yakitori spots in Japan... so when I got the invite I had to join him for some dinner.

Drink Menu... they have Chile and New Zealand red wines.

Yakitori sticks are price at around 250yen each but the portions are much bigger than other restaurants.

The automatic Otooshi... Tofu topped with spicy Chinese hot chili oil "Raiyu."

I'm absolutely not a fan of hard nankotsu-cartillage but this one was rather tender with nice little pieces of chicken meat on each one... deep fried and yummy.

Liver tender as ever and no distinct iron flavor... yum

The super friendly owner chef... he runs it with his wife. All smiles and just too friendly.

Counter seating and 1 tiny table on the 1st floor... 2nd floor had tatami room seating.

This is "MAKANAI"... food served to the part time staff.  One of the girls joined us for a few drinks after her shift was over.

Oh boy this was my favorite.... can't recall what it was but so tender and you can squirt the lemon and dip the spicy paste.

Bathroom is shared for men and women but very clean.

2nd floor.

Japanese Money~

The different kinds of Sake.

And you can keep a bottle here... This place just had the perfect balance.  Cozy size interior, very clean, super friendly staff, crazy friendly customers, food made from the heart and it was just so welcoming.  I'm sure I'll be back very very soon.
