GAIENMAE AOYAMA: ”Asian Lunch” Truck for a chatty chef and spicy 650yen Thai bento!

Beginning in July I am now officially part of the Gaienmae (Aoyama) lunch crowd.. but being located behind BMW there are so very few restaurants in this area thus the lunch trucks are a very welcome sight.

The most popular item seems to be the white rice or brown rice with 3 selection combo lunch for 650yen and if you like an additional 100yen for a cup of Tom yam kung soup.

This lady was moving as the speed of light and blabbering away... her movement must be very logically timed like a magician as she needs to create an illusion of putting on voluminous toppings but in slow motion there is just enough.

If you join their fan club its 50yen off all the time.

Rainy days free topping... and after 1pm its 100yen off.

Got the chicken curry, minced beef thingy and a light tofu with celery mix (she recommended this).  It hit the spot... but very spicy.

The Brown Rice

Day 2: It rained thus free topping but its that little tiny bit of white creamy curry you see up top.  The items are incredibly flavorful but duuuude so crazy spicy!  I love spicy but to be hit with 3 full selections of hot stuff gave me a blow later that day.

FYI there is also a cool little truck serving Taco Rice and CHILI on the same road.

Went for the Taco Rice and Chili with Sausage combo... 800yen.  Incredibly flavorful, almost too flavorful but I'm a fan. Will return.
