ROPPONGI: (CLOSED - COVID19) Return to Torikizoku Yakitori... its in shambles and a dusty mess.

I had an hour to kill and decided to head over to Torikizoku for their great jumbo 280yen mug beers and a few sticks of Yakitori... I shoulda stuck with the "Tori."

Staff is half Thai/Southeast Asian and they speak English... kind Thai waitress Ms. Tao handed me an English menu.

All drinks 280yen.

Went for the beef "gyu kushi" and spicey pork sticks... but why oh why... the volume was much much less than the Yakitori "chicken" sticks.  When at Torikizoku go for the chicken!

The meat this night was so incredibly stringy rubbery... I just kept chewing and chewing... really didn't want to finish it. Perhaps it was just too undercooked? Or the quality of meat this night was a miss?

At eye level I'm staring at a few hairs on the counter mixed with lots of dust... this place is just in shambles.  Don't dust mites exist in these conditions? I couldn't believe they don't clean anything within eyesight of customers.

Now for one of the best items... Kamameshi!

This takes about 30 minutes but worth the wait... lots of seasoned rice, veggies and chicken.

The mens restroom door lock was broken... the toilet lever broken... and when I stepped in to use the restroom someone left a few brownies in the pool.  Honestly I only went here because Izakaya Machan was closed due to a national holiday but will check out the other newer Roppongi East branch down the road next time.  This place just got too careless with cleaning... so sad.

Farewell Torikizoku... this branch won't be missed.
