YOKOHAMA: Leonard's Malasada Hawaiian donuts!!

If you ever goto Hawaii there are a few things you just can't miss.  Kahuku shrimp near the North Shore (I love ROMY's),  Rainbows Drive-Inn for some huge plate lunches, Side Street Inn for some very local food (will see very few tourists and lots of locals here) and of course Leonard's Bakery for their amazing chewy Malasada's.

Only 2 choices, CINNAMON or SUGAR... price is 150yen about 2x Hawaii but just as good.
I think here is a limit of 12 Malasada's per customer.

Picked up one Sugar and one Cinnamon.
If you don't know what a Malasada is click here!!

So warm and chewy.  Sooooo gooooood~.  They make limited numbers at a time so its always Hot.

Plenty of seating.

  1. So many great places to eat on Oahu but here's a must try - Leonards Bakery on Kapahulu Ave in Honolulu. Their malasadas are oh so ono. There is often a line to order malasadas since they are made fresh on the spot. Fortunately the line goes quickly and you probably won’t wait more than 10 minutes. the parking lot sometime fills up, so you may need to park on a side street. The original malasadas are deep fried doughy puffs sprinkled with sugar are good. You can buy them original style or filled with custard, chocolate, or my favorite - haupia. If your the west side of Oahu, Leonards has a “Malasadamobile” just off the Waikele exit next to Lowes. If your going to try a malasada, you might as well try from the best. Here’s some photos from our visit. https://lookintohawaii.com/hawaii/6505/leonards-bakery-restaurant-oahu-honolulu-hi
