YAKITORI: Toritake (Tori-Ta-Keh) in Shibuya

Just couldn't resist having a few CONA Pizzas (http://r.gnavi.co.jp/e192500/) in Shibuya before heading home but the shop was closed for training... and on a Saturday too. Wandered the back streets of Shibuya and came across Toritake. Mari mentioned it was a famous spot with locals and at 9:45pm 2 floors were nicely packed. Ordered the Liver (tasty), Yakitori (a bit on the dry side) and one Tsukune (tasty ground chicken on a stick)... a bit of Salad, 2 Salmon Onigiri's and a Bottled Beeru. Very light meal this night. Japanese restaurants will often give you a mini-appetizer (beer food)... this night it was seasoned Bamboo shoots. If you don't like whats offered then give it back to the waiter straight away because 300yen is normally charged to your bill for this. Mari's not a bamboo person so she returned it and we were charged only for my portion (340yen at Toritake). My advice, return it all and order an extra beer or Yakitori. The atmosphere is sooo very Japanese Japanese salary man style... if u want to immerse yourself into Japan then this would be a great spot. Overall I would definitely bring my foreign friends here for the atmosphere but as for the quality of the food and pricing I'd go elsewhere for my Yakitori fix.
