SAN DIEGO - ENCINITAS: Lobster West... OMG! These lobster sandwiches are spot on yum! The buttery bread toooo!

Of course always do a bit of YELP research prior to any business trip... Lobster West was ranked highly so had to goooo!

The lobster sandwiches were like $17 but for $7 more you can get an extra helping... My Japanese crew didn't realize I was the only one who ordered the lobster.  Love business expenses :)

So buttery yum... the bread was also grilled in butter I think.

SAN DIEGO - OCEAN SIDE: Dija Mara... wonderful staff, owners and great Indonesian good! A MUST!

Business trip yeah!  Original plan was to hit up Campfire on a Saturday night without a reservation the kind staff said they were fully booked... and on their advice he headed out to the next best restaurant in all of Carlsbad... Dija Mara!

L shaped bar counter area and lighting was so super cozy... super lucky to get a seat for 5!

Later I found out the tall Australian guy behind the counter enjoying a little alcohol was one of the owners... super cool.

This steak tartar was soooo yum.

Super tender octopus.

Nasi goreng

The most expensive dish was this full fish... but hmm... probably not my fav of all the items.

These pork skewers were yum... reminded me of yakitori.

Overall we totally stuffed ourselves and each plate was really delicious...  Great ambiance, super friendly staff / owners and you just can't go wrong!  A must if in San Diego.

GAIENMAE: Monte Azul Spanish Restaurant... perfect private room for a group of 12.

Team dinner to start out the fiscal year and one of the ladies on our team picked out Monte Azul.

This was our room... windows on all sides and super private.

We had a full course dinner plan with a nomihoudai (all you can drink) for 2.5 hours.

Always my favorite... the bagna cauda.

This shrimp in garlic oil Ajillo was super tasty... plus lots of bread to dip.

Japanese close out dinners with Ippon-Jime... one clap to end the dinner.

If in Gaienmae with such a limited number of restaurants this one sure was a pleasure to dine at.  Service was super attentive and all the dishes were quite good... nice balance of meat, seafood and carbs.
