AZABU JUBAN: St. Moritz Bake Shop... grandma's keepin it real~

Looked at the foodie rankings for a popular bakery in Azabu Juban and hit on St. Moritz サンモリッツ名花堂... friend mentioned it was a very old style nostalgic Japanese bakery.

In posh rent expensive prime Azabu Juban this place seems to be doing very well... I think the operators probably own the land and bldg.

American Cookies! 105yen each... tempted... very tempted...

Breads and pastries.

Different kinds of sandwiches...

So I ended up with one chicken sandwich with ketchup and mayo... another shop that uses rubber chicken's!  The three nuggets were all so rubbery.

Curry Corokke sandwich :).  Hmm.... hmmm.....

Overall I think its nostalgia and friendly grandmother duo staff that keeps the regulars coming.  But I don't think I'll be back for the sandwiches but perhaps the pastires... time to explore other bakeries in the neighborhood.  And of course you will always spot exotic cars here.  Ferrari 458 at the gas station getting a wash and also spotted a white Lamborghini Murcielago.

SHIBUYA: Hikarihishio... Ramen, Tsukemen thin and thick noodles~

Friendly staff will help ya if you need some guidance.

Regular ramen....

Tsukemen with thin noodles.

Tsukemen with thick noodles (futomen)

Overall my futomen "atsumori" tsukemen lacked the thick chewiness of TETSU and soup was a bit on the light side.  Foodies gave it a rather low 3.10 points on Tabelog so I'd probably suggest hitting up something higher in the Shibuya Ramen Rankings

NAKANO: NAMPRIK Thai Lunch... all 700yen plus all you can eat Yakisoba!

2 Hour all you can drink option for 1,700yen.

Headed to NAMPRIK ナムプリック in Nakano thinking it was a Thai Lunch Buffet (all you can eat) but nope... my mistake.  Only Yakisoba, salad, seaweed soup and tomyamkun soup was all you can eat.

Yakisoba and Salad... free with your lunch.

Asked the Thai waiter what the most delicious item was and he said Green Curry! So why not :)

Curry came out piping hot~.  But I guess there is really no bad or amazing curry... I mean can you really make it more delicious?  Will have to visit Thailand to answer that question in the near future.

A very cozy and friendly spot in Nakano...
